Subscription Boxes: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

A  surprise gift in the mail...bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly?! Yes, please! I am a huge fan of the subscription box, be it beauty products, jewels, sample size goodies or clothing. Honestly, I'd really love one of each but I think my Hubby might be less than thrilled. Since I can't have them all, I like to give them as gifts and live vicariously through my friends surprise and delight. Hint Hint... Mother's day is right around the corner. Read on for some of my faves and the ones I'm looking to try in the future.

Fab Fit Fun Spring 2017 Box

Fab Fit Fun Spring 2017 Box

Stitch Fix: This box is a dream for people who love great quality on-trend clothing but don't have a ton of time to shop or need a little assistance in picking just the right pieces for their wardrobe. The enrollment process starts with an incredibly thorough online questionare. We are talking not just listing your size but really honing in on the parts of your body you love and want to highlight and maybe the ones you'd rather not draw attention to. I'm a legs person but my mid-section is still recovering from having 2 kids ( 6 years later-yikes) so this really allows my assigned stylist to find me the perfect shift dresses that won't be tight or unflattering in the middle. They also encourage their subscribers to use Pinterest to create a board to help guide their stylists when picking out their items. This is a great way to provide visual feedback and direction for a stylist who isn't able to meet you face-to-face. My favorite thing about stitch fix is the versatility. You can adjust the types of things you order, adding on accessories or taking away denim when its just too hot, you can adjust the price point high or low, you can adjust the frequency with which you receive your boxes and you can even skip months and return items with ease. If you utilize Pinterest and provide thorough feedback after each box, I think Stitch Fix is an amazing and convenient subscription service! www.stitchfix.com --Image above from the stitch fix online style gallery.

FabFitFun: Oh how I love this box. This is my newest subscription discovery and it so much fun to get in the mail! When I say surprise, I mean surprise. The fabfitfun box is a mix of so many goodies. They have food items, jewelry, skincare, makeup, workout accessories, hair care and even scarves and beach blankets. This is basically the box your BFF would put together for your birthday and you'd marvel at how well she always "gets" you. The folks at fabfitfun, well they get it. I love that the items are all full size and timed perfectly for the upcoming season so you know you'll put them to good use. This box is distributed four times a year and if you sign up for an annual membership you get a price break- $49.99/per box or $179.99/ annually. Over the holidays I found it difficult to gift this box which was a bummer since its such a treat to share. Lo and behold they have now started offering gift certificates so you can spread the fabulousness. Take advantage of the promo they are usually running for money off your first order. www.fabfitfun.com. --Image above from fabfitfun gallery-previous boxes.

Rachel Zoe, Box Of Style: Wait, a subscription box curated by THE Rachel Zoe and her team... you had me at Zoe!! I can't wait to try this box from the queen of all things Major.  This baby is filled with an amazing mix of higher end items from clothes and jewelry to skincare, sunglasses and even handbags. Treasures you probably won't find at your local store, beautifully packaged for the current season and delivered right to your doorstep .  They ship 4 times a year and the price is pretty good at $99 for each luxurious box (valued at over $200) or $349/annually. They are also currently offering a discount on your first order and have an amazing referral program. When 5 of your friends become Box of Style members, your next box is on them. Plus, each new member will receive $10 off their first box. So who's in? This is going to be bananas. http://boxofstyle.thezoereport.com --Image above from The Zoe Report online gallery.

Rocksbox: How about a monthly jewelry subscription that you can actually try before you buy? Genius!! Bring on the earrings, the statement necklaces, the cuff bracelets, all the lovelies you can fit in this cute little box tied with a dainty pink bow. For me, jewelry is one of those items I really have to hunt for and it usually involves multiple shopping destinations. The convenience of Rocksbox really appeals to the busy Mom in me. You get three pieces to try and wear for a month for $21 and when the month is up you send back what you don't love for a new box of beauties. Anything you'd like to keep you can buy and apply the $21 monthly fee as credit towards your purchase.  The designers and price points are really diverse so you can truly find something that works with any budget or style. They have great deals on gift memberships allowing a friend the chance to really try the service over a couple months and not just receive a single box. Treat yourself to a little something pretty and give this one a try! www.rocksbox.com--Image above from Forbes.com
