A Sweet Escape for My Six Year Old

My little girl is now 6, almost 7 and she is starting to feel like she needs her own space...mainly away from her little brother! So we have kicked up her room a bit from baby girl to big girl and now she loves spending time reading books, playing with her toys and basically just having a little alone time.

I love this room because we mixed colors you don't usually see together, aqua and red/ pink and green. The moment I walk into her bedroom I instantly feel refreshed. I hope she does too!

Her furniture is a mix of what she had in her nursery and some new things. My goal was to keep the cost low but have a big change for her. We found the artwork at Home Goods, the mirrors and pink shelves at Target, and the bookshelves at Ikea.

My amazing aunt made her the quilt and pillow, and my super handy husband made her headboard! We are pretty lucky to have such a crafty family but if you don't, check out some of the cute accessories I found while shopping for my daughter's room.
