The Founders

They say never stop evolving, right? 

M&C Collective has expanded from an online business of one to a multi-shop storefront, Collective Co-op. 

As small business owners, Mindy and Colleen always dreamed of having a brick and mortar shop. Not knowing how much time they could give and if their families could handle it, they put their storefront goals on hold and  focused on building a well curated online boutique and designing their own sustainable fashion line. Due to the pandemic, their business halted, giving them time to reflect and brainstorm. They took a chance and decided this would be the time to go after their dreams. 

After looking at spaces available in the beautiful downtown area of Sierra Madre, and noticing what the town needed in terms of retail. They decided to create a co-op of local, independent businesses. Coming together under one roof, giving the city of Sierra Madre a one stop shopping experience for home decor, women’s clothing & accessories and thoughtful cards and gifts.

Mindy and Colleen have loved the 4 years of creating M&C Collective, and producing their own clothing line, Vivian Blythe. Collective Co-op is  the natural  next step in their beautiful collaboration. 

M&C’s Background

Both Colleen and Mindy, stay at home mom's at the time, started their friendship with kids around the same age, involved in the same activities and husbands who worked around the clock. Soon their daily conversations started to develop into quick business startup chats, and ideals of working while maintaining their family values. Within a few months, M&C Collective was born. They dove in head first and really wanted to create a space where they could use the skills (other than stellar parenting) they had before raising a family. Colleen had an interior design background and Mindy, fashion.  They hoped that by bringing their passions together they could grow a unique brand with elements of both home and fashion. M&C Collective was born and these shared values still drive their business pursuits today.
